Beginning the year 2019 with wings, Star Air, a Sanjay Ghodawat Group venture, has announced the issuance of “Air Operator Certificate”, issued by Ministry of Civil Aviation on 1st Jan 2019. The airlines has plans to open ticket sales shortly.
Star Air will be operating fleet of Embraer ERJ145, which is the fastest in the category having 0.8 Mach Flying Speed. A highly successful aircraft around the world will now be the first in India. The seating capacity for the aircraft is 50 and have an average seat pitch of 31 inches.
Star Air is the first Schedule Commuter Operator based out of Bengaluru (Karnataka) and will start flights from Bengaluru and Hubballi. Star Air is also looking to connect to more cities across India under UDAN 3. Star Air previously already had commenced air services through its Helicopter services and the airline services are new addition to the diversified businesses of the SGG. Bengaluru, Hubballi and Tirupati flights are starting from 25th January, 2019 and the tickets are available on www.starair.in. Bengaluru to Belgaum flights are expected to start in February, 2019. Star Air will be the first Indian carrier to introduce Embraer 145 to fly for domestic routes.
