Star Air launched its Jodhpur-Belagavi flight services recently on 16th Feb 2021. The new Jodhpur-Belagavi flight has received a hearty welcome from the general public and inquiries are pouring in since Star Air launched the sales platform for the Jodhpur-Belagavi route.
Our inaugural Jodhpur-Belagavi flight witnessed an overwhelming response with a staggering 100% passenger load, and the overall passenger load for other operating days is also impressive. For Star Air, the interest of its flyers is of paramount importance.
In a private inaugural ceremony organized at Jodhpur airport under the strict adherence of COVID-19 safety protocols, many prominent dignitaries of various walks of life came and graced this launch event with their august presence. Eminent local politicians, media people, top executives of Star Air and Sanjay Ghodawat Group, senior officials of AAI, amongst others were present that this launch event.
The lack of convenient options has forced people to cover a distance of 1440 km requiring about 25 hours. The launch of non-stop flight services between Jodhpur and Belagavi is a noteworthy step in regional connectivity as no other airline offers the same currently. This will also benefit commuters across Bikaner, Nagaur, Pali, Barmer, and Jaisalmer (cities of Rajasthan).
Mr. Sanjay D. Ghodawat, Chairman, Sanjay Ghodawat Group said, "We are happy to connect more and more tier II and tier III cities under RCS-UDAN. It truly reflects our ethos of connecting real India. The overwhelming response we received for Ajmer (Kishangarh) route has encouraged us to connect more cities from Rajasthan. Jodhpur is a step in that direction"
Star Air's non-stop flight between Jodhpur and Belagavi is the most affordable as it operates under the popular UDAN scheme and the fastest as the commute time is only around two hours.
Service on this route is available thrice a week, which may further increase depending upon passenger requirement and response. Furthermore, after witnessing immense success at Ajmer (Kishangarh), Star Air plans to expand its service network in other parts of Rajasthan, and launching services from Jodhpur is a step in that direction.
Commenting on the new route, Shrenik Ghodawat, Director, Star Air, said, “Really happy with the response for the inaugural flight. The new route will certainly augment the regional connectivity and also catapult trade and tourism."
Noted pilot and the CEO of Star Air Mr. Simran Singh Tiwana recently honoured as “India’s Most Trusted CEO 2020”. Their vision and guidance are helping Star Air to grow vertically. I am confident that one day Star Air will become the number one airline in India.
Our airline recently made headlines by earning a rare recognition. As per the data revealed by a prominent agency from the aviation arena, Star Air topped the Passenger Load Factor (PLF) chart outpacing all other national and regional carriers.
As per the report, our airline had a PLF of 79.0% in February 2021, which is recorded as the highest in the industry during the said period.
Apart from the PLF, Star Air, in the past, has also been acknowledged for On-Time Performance (OTP) record as one of the best in the industry.

Star Air recently completed two successful years on 25th January 2021. We marked our second anniversary by celebrating with our employees and key business stakeholders at our headquarters in Bengaluru. Incepted on 25th Jan 2019, with an aim to connect real India and make travel easier and affordable, our airline has made significant strides in a very limited time. In just two years, our network grew to 13 destinations and our airline has now attained a position of influence and status.
Furthermore, on this celebratory occasion, the company celebrated in a very distinct manner. It gifted all the flyers, flew on 25th January, with plantable pencils under the campaign, ‘Sambhav Hai’. The ‘Sambhav Hai’ endeavor aligned with our core belief of caring for flyers.
How Our Journey Began?
Mr. Shrenik Ghodawat, Managing Director – Sanjay Ghodawat Group, realized a huge potential in the airline industry and plunged into the field of commercial scheduled flight services. Mr. Simran Singh Tiwana a trusted aide and notable aviation expert was chosen to lead Star Air.

Moreover, Star Air recently started its international charter services as well to fulfill the growing demands of the industry.
Inspiring Words from Top Executives
"Star Air has witnessed phenomenal growth in a short span of time. Despite the cut-throat competition in the industry, we have managed to make remarkable progress over the last couple of years. It wouldn’t have been possible without the contribution of every team member and other stakeholders. On this celebratory occasion of Star Air’s second anniversary, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed in making this milestone memorable. I wish everyone the best for future endeavors and high spirits," says Shrenik Ghodawat, Managing Director, Sanjay Ghodawat Group.
"As a chief member of the Star Air family, it gives me immense pleasure and pride to see how well the company has evolved despite radical changes in the industry. I take this opportunity to thank my entire team for their commendable performance during the past years. I believe our collective efforts will reflect a positive growth trajectory and help charter new glorious paths for Star Air over the coming years. I wish you all the very best and keep up the good work," says Capt. Simran Singh Tiwana, Chief Executive Officer, Star Air.
Covid 19 took a toll on all the segments of industries around the globe. Aviation took the biggest toll, however, even during such tumultuous times, our endeavor of connecting the unconnected is fulfilling its goal with our continuous efforts of boosting regional flight connectivity.
Post lockdown, we launched our scheduled flight services to three new destinations that include Surat, Nashik, Jodhpur and resumed our services to Tirupati as well. Moreover, we also started our charter services, backed with our fleet of Embraer ERJ145 aircraft and Airbus helicopters. Flyers can avail our Star charter services to fly anywhere within India and international tourist destinations of choice.
Incepted in January 2019 with an aim to connect the unconnected by offering quality flight services, our airline has lived up to its endeavor by connecting numerous Tier-II and Tier-III cities. Star Air is now gearing up its operations to expand its business horizon further in cities like Nagpur and Jamnagar as well in 2021. Currently, we offer scheduled flight services to 13 Indian destinations that include Ahmedabad, Ajmer (Kishangarh), Bengaluru, Belagavi, Delhi (Hindon), Hubballi, Indore, Jodhpur, Kalaburagi, Mumbai, Nashik, Surat, and Tirupati.
"On the safety aspect, Star Air is working hard as ever to cater and fulfill all the respective Covid-19 protocols, which will help its ever-increasing passengers to enjoy their journey and make it memorable for the years to come. It is prepared to cater to such growing demands and all set to expand its business further,” concludes Mr. Shrenik Ghodawat, Director - Star Air.
On 11th January 2021, Star Air expanded its operations under the regional connectivity scheme UDAN by starting direct flight services between Kalaburagi and Tirupati.
With no direct flights currently, our historic flight service will attract lakhs of devotees from Kalaburagi and adjacent districts and enable them to travel with ease and comfort to the spiritual capital of Andhra Pradesh.
Keeping the passenger demands in mind, Star Air decided to provide non-stop flight services between these two cities four days a week with the comfort and safety of a world-renowned Embraer ERJ145 aircraft.
Being a spiritual hub of southern India, Tirupati attracts millions of pilgrims from all across the world every year. Mr. Sanjay Ghodawat, Chairman, Sanjay Ghodawat Group said, "We feel happy and proud to announce that we have now connected two famous religious destinations, Kalaburagi (known for Hazrat Khwaja Bandanawaz Dargah and Sharana Basaveshwara) and Tirupati Balaji. Devotees can now visit these holy places at a minimum fare of Rs. 1999/-. I believe that this will certainly add a feather to the cap and further promote Star Air's mission of connecting real India".
Being surrounded by mesmerizing hills, waterfalls, various temples, and a classic wildlife sanctuary, Tirupati offers a unique tourist destination to enjoy some spiritual and fun time with family and friends.
With this new flight service between Kalaburagi and Tirupati, people can cover 620 KMS of distance in just 1 hour as compared to 11 hours needed via other modes of transportation available now.
Meanwhile, we also have resumed our services between Hubballi and Tirupati on 11th January 2021.
After running successful operations in Ahmedabad for over a year, we have now expanded our wings further, by launching our services to one more city of Gujarat. Our airline recently commenced its operations in the Silk City of India i.e. Surat from 21st December 2020.
We launched non-stop flight services to Surat from Belagavi (Karnataka) and Ajmer (Rajasthan) under the popular RCS-UDAN scheme. This service is one of its kind as it will help thousands to travel, conveniently and affordably between Belagavi-Surat-Ajmer (Kishangarh) region comfortably than ever before and help make their travel easier.
Star Air is already running Belagavi to Ajmer (Kishangarh) services via Ahmedabad and Indore locations. Surat is the third city from where Star Air is connecting Belagavi & Ajmer (Kishangarh).
This new service will prove beneficial for millions living across Kolhapur, Sindhudurg, Sangli, Bagalkot, Gadag, Dharwad, Bijapur, Uttara Kannada, Nandurbar, Bharuch, Narmada, Navsari, Nagaur, Jaipur, Tonk, Bhilwara, and Pali districts of four Indian states. Also, due to the close proximity of Belagavi with Goa, people residing across the border region of Goa will also find it comfortable and affordable to travel to Surat & Ajmer (Kishangarh) than before.
After commencing operations from Surat, Star Air is now serving passengers in 10 prominent Indian cities that include Ahmedabad, Ajmer (Kishangarh), Belagavi, Bengaluru, Delhi (Hindon), Kalaburagi, Indore, Mumbai, Surat, and Hubballi.
“This Belagavi-Surat-Ajmer (Kishangarh) service is a historic one as to cover 1480+ Kms of the distance between Belagavi and Ajmer, passengers now just have to spend 3 hours instead of 25+ hours as required from other modes of transportation. Moreover, the travel time between Surat-Belagavi and Surat-Ajmer (Kishangarh) is reduced to just 1 hour 20 min and thus it provides great relief to countless people who fly between these cities frequently,” says Mr. Shrenik Ghodawat, Managing Director - Star Air.
Star Air has planned to start commercial scheduled non-stop flight services between Kalaburagi and Delhi (Hindon) from November 18, 2020. Once operationalized, this would be the first commercial flight service between the two prominent cities.
“Currently, passengers face a lot of travel hassle to cover the journey between Kalaburagi and Delhi (Hindon), approx. 1700 km apart. By road and rail, it takes over 24 hours. Once Star Air starts this service, people can travel this long distance in just 2-hour 20 minutes with the comfort of world-class, Brazilian-manufactured Embraer ERJ145 aircraft,” said Sanjay Ghodawat, Chairman of Sanjay Ghodawat Group, in a media release on Saturday.
Economical Option
Mr. Ghodawat further said that the service would not just save passengers’ time but money as well, as the service would be under the popular RCS-UDAN scheme which would enable passengers to fly at a very economical cost.
“Having an airport located strategically at a significant geographical point bordering various states, Kalaburagi holds prominence for travel connectivity. It is expected that with the commencement of this service, thousands living across several districts like Bijapur, Solapur, Bidar, Osmanabad, Latur, Yadgir, Ranga Reddy, Medak of three vital states of Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Telangana would benefit,” Mr. Ghodawat said.
Nine Cities
Currently, we operate in nine different Indian cities that include Ahmedabad, Ajmer (Kishangarh), Belagavi, Bengaluru, Delhi (Hindon), Indore, Hubballi, Kalaburagi, and Mumbai. In the coming months, we are planning to start services to Surat and Nashik as well, Mr. Ghodawat added.
Star Air, the aviation arm of business conglomerate - Sanjay Ghodawat Group, has entered into the charter services business to fulfil private air travel requirements.
The Group previously has an experience of over six years of running helicopter charter service operations successfully under Ghodawat Enterprises Pvt. Ltd.
The airline, Star Air, with its world-class fleet of three Embraer ERJ-145 aircraft (50-seater), two helicopters – Airbus H130 (6-seater) and Airbus H135 (5-seater), has the capacity to fly anywhere at any point in time, the press statement by the Group mentioned.
It holds a valid licence for charter service business and operates as per the protocols defined by the DGCA. The company has a team of experienced pilots, technicians, and staff that assures you get a best-in-class charter service with complete safety and without any hassles.
“We are delighted to expand our airline operations by opening this private charter services. Like our scheduled commercial airline services, we are offering a world-class charter service keeping your comfort, safety, and overall flying experience in mind,” Sanjay Ghodawat, Chairman – Star Air, said in a press statement.
Star Air had started its operations in January 2019 and provides services to Bengaluru, Belagavi, Indore, Kalaburagi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Ajmer (Kishangarh).
According to the Star Air, the demand for availing charter services has risen dramatically over the last a couple of months and encouraged airlines to either start or expand their charter services business further.
“This (Covid-19) pandemic has not only limited the modes of transportation for people across India but also forces them to look for safer, convenient, and comfortable travel options. Private charter services are thus seen as the best alternative” Star Air added.
A few days ago, the Aviation industry took a great sigh of relief, when the Civil Aviation Ministry gave its green signal for starting domestic flight operations in a calibrated manner. The latest entrant to this club is Star Air, a Scheduled commercial airline, which has also declared the commencement of its daily flight operations again from 25th May 2020.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Union Government had restricted all modes of travel including air travel since 25th March 2020. However, the impact of the nationwide lockdown and the growing demand from passengers for safe travel encouraged the Government to start domestic flight operations.
Star Air is a prominent airline services company, which has made a significant presence in the airline space with its impressive and qualitative services. The airline operates under the RCS-UDAN scheme and provides services in far deeper pockets of the country.
Many see it as the most promising airline brands in making. It is known for providing world-class flight services to various metros as well as Tier-II and Tier-III Indian cities at a very affordable cost. Star Air operates in ten Indian cities including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Tirupati, Hubballi, Belagavi, Delhi (Hindon), Kalaburagi, Indore, and Kishangarh (Ajmer).
Star Air has already started bookings for its various travel routes and is getting a phenomenal response from the customers across India. It has decided to implement numerous precautionary measures to ensure passengers' safety as per the directives of the Union Government.
Daily sanitization of aircraft with effective disinfectants, enabling employees to wear PPEs while serving passengers, providing a web check-in facility to reduce physical contact, and many other such measures have been implemented byStar Airto maximize its passengers' safety.
Experts say that travelling in Star Air in these challenging times would be far more comfortable and safer than any other airline. Star Air uses 50-seater Embraer aircraft with an alpha seating arrangement facility. This seating is unique because it has dual features of aisle and window seat. Travelling in this arrangement makes any passenger less exposed to other fellow passengers, due to fewer people density and wider distance amongst passengers inside the aircraft. Its extra legroom space of total 31 inches between the seats is far greater than what most of the established airline giants offer and thus ensure more comfort while maintaining maximum distancing.
"It is a delight that DGCA has given its nod to start operations in the domestic skies. Millions of people are stuck in different parts of our country due to lockdown. Now, these people can easily reach their homes safely. We are ready to serve our passengers with utmost safety as per guidelines issued by DGCA," says Mr. Sanjay Ghodawat, Chairman - Star Air.
Star Air, a regional commuter airline, which stunned the whole Indian aviation industry with its fabulous growth in the very first year of its operations, recently added another feather in its cap. On 16th March 2020, Star Air wrote history by becoming the India’s first airline to start direct flight services between Indore (Madhya Pradesh) and Kishangarh (Ajmer – Rajasthan) under the popular RCS-UDAN scheme.
The airline scheduled a few mega launch events at both Indore and Kishangarh airports, where scores of high-profile dignitaries had come. Mrs. Aryma Sanyal – Airport Director (Indore) inaugurated this historic Indore-Kishangarh flight service at a grand ceremony held at the Indore airport on 16th March 2020. Along with her, Mr. Bikar Singh – Chief Aerodrome Security Officer from CISF, Mr. Sunil Bansod – ATC Incharge, Mr. Shrivastav – Terminal Incharge, and many other senior dignitaries from the AAI were also present at this function.
In another event conducted on the same day but at the Kishangarh Airport, many senior dignitaries from the AAI attended one grand launch ceremony. Senior Congress MLA Mr. Suresh Tak, Marble Association President – Mr. Susheel Jain, RK Marble Chairman – Mr. Ashok Patni, Mr. Ashok Kapoor – Airport Director (Kishangarh Airport), Mr. R K Meena – Commercial Head, and Mrs. Anuradha – ATC Incharge also came and graced this event with their distinguished presence.
It is quite interesting that in a very limited time, the airline has not only made this route operational but also successful in creating a buzz about this route in a very shorter span of time. Star Air on 18 February 2020 announced to launch this service and subsequently opened its sales. Since then there has been immense euphoria amongst millions of people who were aspired to see such service for decades. People’s delight can be gauged from the fact that since this announcement, its sales hotline number got flooded with enquiries at enormous scale.
Increasing Footprints; Fulfilling Aspirations
Star Air has gained phenomenal success in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Delhi-NCR, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujrat, and Madhya Pradesh. And now connecting Rajasthan, also called as “The Land of Colours”.
Rajasthan is the seventh Indian state where Star Air is providing its flight services under the RCS-UDAN scheme. Interestingly, Indore and Kishangarh, which are almost 550 kilometres apart, had not been blessed with direct flight connectivity prior to Star Air’s launch. People had to spend more than 10 hours to cover this distance that too with much hassle and discomfort. But now they can cover this distance in just 1 hour.
“Star Air is the first airline, which has fulfilled the aspirations of millions of people, by starting the first-ever direct flight services between Indore and Kishangarh,” says Mr. Shrenik Ghodawat, MD – Star Air. “For many decades, people of Belagavi, Karnataka were also aspired to get benefitted with affordable and swift transportation services to
Kishangarh (Ajmer). Considering people’s demand, the management of Star Air has further decided to extend the benefits of its Kishangarh service to a larger number of people living across the geography of Belagavi by providing flight services between Belagavi and Kishangarh (Ajmer) with one stop (via Indore) from 16th March 2020 itself.”
Prior to its launch, there was no direct flight services available between Belagavi and Kishangarh. And to cover the distance of almost 1550 kilometres between Belagavi and Kishangarh, travellers had to spend more than a day while traveling by bus or train. However, after the commencement of this route, people now can travel between Belagavi and Kishangarh in just 3 hours, which has also become the fastest means of travel for the said route till date, a feat in itself.
It is expected that millions of people from South & West Maharashtra, North & West Karnataka, and from many districts adjacent to Indore would get benefitted with this service. Especially, districts from Maharashtra state like Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, and many districts from Karnataka state like Belagavi, Dharwad, Vijapur would get benefitted from this connectivity.
A Gift for Travel Enthusiasts and Businesspeople
This service will help travellers to a great extent as Kishangarh, a place close to Ajmer, is one of the most famous tourist destinations in India. This route is expected to make travel easy for tourists, who love to explore palaces, forts and places of religious importance. With the commencement of this route, now people can fly easily to Kishangarh and take a glimpse of the famous Ajmer Sharif Dargah (30 KM), Pushkar Lake (48 KM), Phool Mahal Palace (4 KM), Roopangarh Fort (27 KM) etc., much comfortably than ever before.
